Estate Manager
Job Category: Estate Manager Location: Surrey, New Westminster, Remote Hours: Full-TimeEstate Managers, also referred to as Insolvency Administrators, are part of our client-facing team and are directly responsible for educating clients on their debt options, offering solutions, answering questions about next steps, and performing tasks related to the insolvency processes we offer.
Estate Managers act ethically and promote Sands & Associates’ values and culture through their daily interactions with clients and team members alike.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct initial client meetings, review appointments, and sign-up appointments with clients, providing advice and guidance on Consumer Proposals, bankruptcies, and other debt solutions.
- Develop professional relationships with Licensed Insolvency Trustees, Client Support Specialists, Technicians, Administrative Clerks, and other industry and insolvency professionals.
- Deliver respectful and empathetic service to clients.
- Delegate and assist in preparation of insolvency filing and administration documents.
- Maintain quality control by reviewing work performed by Technicians and Administrative Clerks for accuracy and completeness; provide feedback to team members.
- Coach, develop, and train new team members.
- Understand and adhere to the provisions of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
Qualified Insolvency Counsellor
Job Category: Insolvency Counsellor Location: Remote Hours: Full-TimeInsolvency Counsellors provide guidance and assistance to Consumer Proposal and bankruptcy clients, from support in developing their budget to setting financial goals during each financial counselling session. They can offer resources and referrals to specialized counselling to address non-budgetary causes of insolvency, as well as provide recommendations for financial tools to better enable and maintain a debt-free future. Each counselling session is tailored to the individual, with the Insolvency Counsellor reviewing each clients’ file to understand their unique situation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct first and second counselling sessions as required by the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act.
- Assess clients in developing budgets, plans, and setting personal financial goals.
- Deliver a respectful and empathetic experience for the clients.
- Review monthly Income & Expense reports.
- Prepare, process, and E-file required documents, such as the Report on Insolvency Counselling.
Licensed Insolvency Trustee
Job Category: Licensed Insolvency Trustee Location: Surrey, New Westminster, Remote Hours: Full-TimeLicensed Insolvency Trustees are Canada’s only federally regulated professionals empowered to administer Consumer Proposals and personal bankruptcies. This position requires a high degree of professionalism, compassion and understanding, to maintain and support the needs of our clients, as well as a commitment to ongoing learning and development, as laws and regulations change and technology in the workplace evolves.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct initial client meetings, review appointments, and sign-up appointments with clients, providing advice and guidance on Consumer Proposals, bankruptcies, and other debt solutions.
- Manage consumer bankruptcy and proposal files.
- Work closely with and provide guidance and recommendations to our administration professionals.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients, creditors, the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy and the courts through creditor meetings, reports, and attendance at Court.
- Manage Court files.
- Provide advice and guidance on current bankruptcy laws and practices.
- Maintain up to date knowledge and understanding of insolvency laws, rules, and procedures.
- Assist in the training and development of administrative clerks and junior insolvency administrators.
Qualifications
- CIRP designation
- Licensed Insolvency Trustee designation
