Deane Gurney is the President of E. Sands & Associates, a Trustee in Bankruptcy, a member of the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals and holds a Licentiate in Accounting. Deane has over 27 years of experience practicing exclusively in the consumer and corporate insolvency and restructuring areas.

Deane has been involved in a wide range of insolvency and restructuring engagements including: instrument appointed receiver and advisor to lenders, corporate debtors and other stakeholders with respect to financial and viability assessments, security reviews and financial investigations.

Located in our Surrey office, Deane focuses on both consumer and corporate insolvency and restructuring proceedings.

Geoff Orrell, CIRP, Trustee in Bankruptcy

Geoff Orrell is a Senior Vice-President of E. Sands & Associates, a Trustee in Bankruptcy and a member of the Canadian Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals. Geoff has over 30 years of experience practicing exclusively in the consumer and corporate insolvency and restructuring areas including 20 years with two National Professional Services and Chartered Accountancy Firms.

Geoff has been involved in a wide range of insolvency and restructuring engagements including, instrument appointed receiver, advisor to lenders, corporate debtors and other stakeholders with respect to financial and viability assessments, security reviews and financial investigations.

Located in our Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Port Coquitlam offices, Geoff focuses on both consumer and corporate insolvency and restructuring proceedings.

Marlene Byrne, Estate Manager

Marlene Byrne is an Insolvency Estate Manager and Qualified Insolvency Counsellor. Located in our Tri-Cities and Maple Ridge offices, Marlene’s primary focus is the administration of personal bankruptcies and consumer proposals to creditors to assist individuals in resolving their financial difficulties. Marlene has 18 years of banking experience with a credit union, followed by five years working as a credit counsellor.

Julie Medeiros, BA, Estate Manager

Julie Medeiros is an Insolvency Estate Manager and Qualified Insolvency Counsellor with over four years of experience. Located in our Surrey and Tri-Cities offices, Julie’s primary focus is the administration of personal bankruptcies and consumer proposals to creditors to assist individuals in resolving their financial difficulties.
